Where To Go In Cape Town

Certain countries spring to mind more readily than others when
it comes time to book a holiday abroad. For many people, South
Africa isn't one of the first countries they think of.

This is changing though as more and more people discover the
delights of cities such as Cape Town. It may surprise you to
learn there are white sandy beaches, market squares and much
more besides awaiting you when you plan your visit.

Cape Town is of course famous above all for Table Mountain. So
called because of its flat top, the mountain overlooks Cape Town
and is perhaps even more eye catching because of it. It sits in
stark contrast to the city, and is easily accessible if you are
up for a day's hiking.

Indeed, you will appreciate Cape Town itself all the more if you do
make that journey. Once you arrive at the flat summit, you will be
able to look down on the city and take some sensational photographs.
You can see many other landmarks from there too, so be sure to take
a guidebook so you can identify them all.

Once you are back down to earth you might like to explore some of
the best beaches in Cape Town as well. This should provide you with
a nice opportunity to relax after all that exercise. Because Cape Town
rests in the south western corner of South Africa, you have the choice
of beaches looking onto either the Atlantic or the Indian Ocean.

Choose carefully too - if you love to swim then head
for a beach which enjoys the warmth of the Indian Ocean. In
contrast, Blouberg Beach is ideal for getting a different view
of Table Mountain, while Sandy Bay is perfect if a quieter time
is what you need.

Of course many people enjoy shopping while they are in Cape Town.
As with many other foreign destinations there are two distinct types
of shopping on offer. If you want modern malls with all the latest mod
cons available, then Cape Town certainly has its fair share.

On the other hand there is also the opportunity to explore a world
of African art and craft if you head for one of the many markets
that are dotted about the city. These are the best places to choose
and buy some souvenirs to take home with you.

The first step to planning any holiday in Cape Town is to book
your Cape Town flights. Be sure to look for some
accommodation in the city itself, so you are close to all the
best sights and attractions it has to offer.

Who knows, you might even find yourself with a view of Table Mountain
from your hotel room.
